Hello! We’ve returned from our trip to San Francisco. It was great getting away for 4 days. But back to reality…oh there goes gravity. Har har. Okay, so sue me. I’m an Eminem fan.

Gotta get to bed, but here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come. :)

(Hi from Alcatraz!)

How exciting is this?! Guess what I’m updating my WordPress on! Yup, ya got it. Tiff just got her very first netbook. It arrived around lunchtime at work today and I brought out my Leica D-Lux3 to document this great event. I also haven’t used my Leica in awhile and it’s just been sitting there collecting dust. So without further ado, I present to you guys…my new Lenovo S10-2!

netbook

Okay, I honestly need to start resizing my pictures a little bit more. Anyone have a good size to recommend for posting pictures on blogs?

On to a new topic. Today I ate The Counter for lunch. Har har har, no it didn’t hurt my teeth to chew on acrylic tiles. Are tiles even made from acrylic? I don’t know why I typed that. Too bad, this is my blog and on my blog, tiles are made from acrylic.

Anyway, the burgers there are monstrous. A 1/3 pounder will put you out of commission for the rest of the day. I definitely don’t recommend you eating this for lunch on a Monday if you have to return to your cubicle afterwards. You will probably get no work done and just sit there in agony of being overly stuffed with beefy goodness.

I love how everything these days are customizable. It’s just so fitting that Americans have so many choices on anything and everything.

I loaded my 1/3 lb. beef burger with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, Greek feta cheese, avocado, and an egg. All accompanied with a side of their Russian dressing which is the equivalent to Thousand Issland. YUMMMMMMMMM.

And please, please, please. Order the cheese fries when you go. They are to die for. And they’re extremely generous with the cheese they put on top.

I hope that made somebody drool. Because I just ate dinner and I’m full, but looking at these pictures makes me hungry again. Piggy status, on the real!

It’s a Friday night and I’m at my friends’ apartment. We’ve recently gotten into a bunch of board games. They’re currently playing Risk while I’m blogging. We’re going to go out tonight to Air Conditioned lounge forJon’s going away. He’ll be in Germany for a good 3 months. Tchau mein freund!

There’s another game thats currently ranked #1 on Amazon under board games. Dude, it is so addictive. Settlers of Catan. Must. Play. Go. Purchase. The. Expansion. As. Well.

Alrighty, that’s enough updating for awhile. I apologize for such a long and random post. I’m just excited to be playing with my netbook. :)

Have a great weekend folks.

Til next week……

:)

So I’ve never ever printed any of my pictures to keep for myself. The only time I did make prints was when I had to submit them for the student photo exhibit when I took a class at SMC. I had no idea how to mount them either. When I walked in to turn in my submissions, everyone elses looked professionally mounted. They were even making beveled cuts into the mat boards. Craziness. So now it’s my turn to say, take that! I think my very first canvas print turned out pretty well.

Now if only I could find a place to hang this…I’m a little concerned about it falling off the wall and breaking someone’s skull open though. We’ll see where this ends up. It was originally going to be for my cubicle at work, but then I realized a 11×14 print is way too huge to frame and place as decor inside my workspace. So I had to take it home. But I will find a place for my veryyyyyyyyyyy firsttttttt print! :)

This past weekend, I had the great pleasure of attending the boyfriend’s graduation at UCSD. Yay! I’m so proud of you :)

I rode down to San Diego with his family and surprisingly, the traffic wasn’t as bad as I had imagined or remembered it to be. We arrived at around 11:30 and picked up a quick snack of fish tacos at Rubio’s to hold us over until our meal after graduation. We found parking at Pangea parking structure and headed over to Rimac where commencement was being held. Oh, the memories. I remembered walking across that stage 2 years ago. And boy, do I miss it. The best advice anyone had ever given me was to stay in school. They were right. If I could, I would’ve taken an extra year to graduate. I would’ve also invested in an SLR so I could’ve started photography a bit earlier. There would’ve definitely been a lot more interesting things to shoot in college.

They graduated the John Muir College students by majors. Except they went alphabetically backwards. Will graduated with an Econ degree so imagine waiting for that! But soon enough, his name was called and he proudly strolled across the stage. When everyone finished walking, they turned their tassles from one side to the other and with a light kick in the butt, the graduating class of 2009 was presented to face the real world. Good luck graduates! Our economy isn’t as grim as it seems, just be patient.

The one thing I was surprised they did not allow the graduates to do was to throw their caps into the air. Apparently, it was a medical liability and the school was worried about students blinding themselves if the corner of a cap were to fall down and hit them in the eye. Right.

Oh, and also! It didn’t seem like they had  any cool guest alumni speakers at this graduation. When I graduated 2 years ago, Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air came to speak!

As always, I’ll end my post with some pictures.

Congrats again, babe! :)

…will get you no where. Haha, just kidding. I just got home from driving on the 110 freeway trying to find the ‘infamous bridge’ where you can take an amazing picture of the freeway with the downtown LA skyline as a backdrop. Wendy said her classmate took this amazing photo from ‘a bridge off the 110 fwy” so we went on a 2 hour adventure trying to find it. We finally found what we thought was the bridge so we exited quickly. Except, once we got off the freeway, we had NO idea how to get to the bridge we saw on the freeway. So we got lost trying to find it on the local streets and decided to get back on the 110 freeway to come back again. And we did this like 3 times. 2 hours later, we ended up near Echo Park and had no idea where we were going so we decided to head home. Except we hopped on the 101N instead of South. Sigh.

So we decided that we’d research it a bit more before heading out next time. I came immediately home and searched on Flickr. Now I know. Now I’m prepared.

But wow, I have never worked so hard in my life for a shot that I never took.

Thank goodness we headed to Pasadena before hand to take pictures of city hall. Atleast I didn’t come back empty handed, right?

Right.

<edit: here’s a picture I took w/ Jenn’s point and shoot at Elevate Lounge in downtown a couple weeks ago. Side note: That place is way too upscale. Pretentious crowd and hard to get into but maybe the view was worth it. Sorry for the resolution, Jenn needs to send me the full file still…will update once I get that!>

Yesterday was the first game of the new season for Team Turnover. And off to a great start they are! They blew out the other team and doubled their score at the end. The interesting thing about yesterday is that everyone seemed to fall! I’ve never seen so many people trip over other people or themselves in a game! I caught some of this falling action on my camera. Enjoy!
