So I was looking on Flickr just now and I’ve seen some amazing black and white photography. What I used to do was just click ‘grayscale’ in Lightroom and maybe adjust the exposure a bit. Looking at how other people’s black and whites turn out intrigued me because theirs always looked so much better so I basically tried to mimic photos I liked. I really should take a Photoshop/Lightroom class soon. Anyone know of a night class around here? I’ve checked pretty much all the community colleges in my area and to no avail at that.
Anyway, here are a couple pictures I played with…can someone teach me how to edit black and whites??

I’ll give this WordPress thing one more chance.
It’s hard to keep up with maintaining Flickr and a blog at the same time, but recently all I’ve been doing is stalk other photographer’s blogs and think about how cool it is that they have one. And now I’m back here. We’ll see how this run goes.
So, this past weekend, I had the pleasure to shoot my sister’s medical fraternity’s end of the year banquet at a gorgeous mansion along the Newport coast. And my god, yes. It does look like a house right out of the OC tv series.
Just look at the beautiful backyard!

The banquet had some delicious food. Kabobs were served as appetizers. Then came the chicken, beef, and seafood pasta. Talk about food coma afterwards. And my god, the dessert! The chef made some wicked fruit tarts!

Now, I’d like to give a shout out to my sister. Yes, she looks older than me. Yes, she is taller than me. And yes, she is physically blessed in certain areas that I am not (BUTT&BOOBS). And to get her back for all that, I’m telling my mom how she’s inappropriately and scantily dressed. I kid, I kid. Maybe. Anyway, I’m so proud of her for organizing this entire event. I was mighty impressed with how she ran things. She even used a mini megaphone to help her out. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, my lovely sister Christina!

Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that last picture.
The ladies and fellas of Phi Delta Epsilon seemed like they were enjoying themselves throughout the night. Here are some action shots!

Ack, it’s late. I promise a longer update tomorrow. There just aren’t enough hours in the day!
Good night kids.
