I am proud to present…the shot that I had to work the hardest (in my entire shooting career) for……

If you’ve been following my blog from the beginning (which hasnt been that long ago), you might have remembered a post where I was whining about how I got lost for 2 hours trying to shoot the LA skyline at night over the 110 freeway. Well, this time, I was armed w/ knowledge of the exact location I needed to be. HOLLAAAAAAAA!!!
Maybe a black & white rendition?

Anyway, I’m super glad that I finally got the shots. Sans tripod might I add. I sat on the dirty floor of some random freeway overpass bridge. I probably caught herpes because I was wearing shorts.

Could possibly be the best movie of 2009. Clever, funny, witty, heart breaking, and hopeful all at the same time. My heart was literally swelling and bursting at the seams with emotions, pulling me left and right…I loved it. Please, please, please, do yourself a favor and watch it. It’s basically about a love story that doesn’t work out. I want to watch it again. And maybe purchase it when it becomes available on DVD.
I’m still exhausted from shooting the wedding yesterday. My awesome friend invited me along to gain some experience, so I was excited! I pretty much started my day at 9am. I had to take my mom to pick up her car at the body shop, except they weren’t done when we got there so we waited until 11 for it to be finished. Then, I rushed home to eat a quick “lunch” of some pizza rolls and I was out the door and on my way to Kim’s house to photograph her getting ready.

Kim’s gorgeous dress.

Directions to the wedding site.

Here comes the bride..
So we made it to the wedding site at around 3:30ish, if I remember correctly. There was a good amount of time before the wedding so we spied on the bride and groom while they had their private time.

Pretty roses.

omg how cute is this little boy?! He was banging away on the djembe like a pro. Yes, djembe. It’s a word, okay? I was in pit during high school, I WOULD KNOW.

Dad flipping son upside down

A quick prayer before the ceremony.

Kim and her daddy.

Kim’s father is a pastor. How convenient!

Chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet cupcakes.

My favorite candid shot of the day. I saw the sign and as Kim walked down the steps, I got lucky and caught it

My favorite posed shot of the day. Fellas hangin’ out by the train depot.

The first time Kim and Albino were presented as wifey & hubby.
I love seeing people in love. It’s so cute and endearing. I can’t wait for my friends to get married. It’ll be interesting to see how people end up. Overall, an exciting fun filled day that ended with a night of dancing. And my, do Kim & Albino know how to get down. The guests were just as fun to party and boogie with. Unfortunately, I lasted til about 9:30pm when I left and got home and promptly knocked out at 10:30pm. What a Saturday!

First off, I’d like to say HAPPY HUMP DAY. (Please reference the picture above).
I know. 3 entries in 24 hours. Told you I’m trying to get better.
On Monday, I went over to Emz place and we decided to have a doggy play date with Mochi and Dozer, her pug. He is soooo cuuuteeeee!! We let them meet and all he kept doing was sniff her in certain private areas while she returned the favor. (Mochi, not Emz HAHA).
They didn’t really get to playing much…Mochi was acting weird. Whenever Dozer sniffed her she would get all mad and walk away but when Dozer wasn’t looking, she’d go and sniff him. I think they only chased each other around twice.
Then they started smelling spots on the grass and digging and then torpedo-ing their faces into the grass patch. Okay, so the term torpedo is used by me when Mochi does a nose dive type thing and rubs her entire face and eventually her body on the grass/carpet/blankets/whatevershedecidestotorpedo.
Dozer apparently does the same. That was probably the most amusing part of their playdate.

(Hi Dozzzzzzzer)

(Dozer starshots)

(Emz attempting to carry both and Dozer struggling to get away)

(HAHA this picture just looks funny. I would imagine their dog conversation to go something like this – Mochi: Yo Dozer, what the hell are you doing?? Dozer: Nothin much…just chillennnn)

(Mochi being lazy and tired after I chased her around)

(HAHAHA DOZER AND HIS RETARDED EYE)

(Torpedo status)

(Dozers too heavy to be carried and he was being a trouble maker so Emz had to escort him)
Photos from last week’s league game. I know, I’ve been slacking on updations as of late, but I promise, I’ll try harder.

(SMELL MY BO attack)

(Hail Hitler)

(Head in awkward position)

(Gimme the ball or I’ll slap you in the face)

(Blocked SON)

(He’s trippin)

(Fly like an eagle to the sea to the sea)

(Intense game face on)

(Babe is a ball grabber)

(In da butt.)

You, you, you, yes let the words woo you till you woozy. Let the lyrics subdue you, massage you, and soothe you, move you till consciousness lose you.
Sabrosa Purr now rules you. Do what they do, and you’ll be beautiful.
Okay, so I didn’t exactly go to the studio to record my first demo. I may have fibbed a little. I’m sorry. But I did go to a studio.
Emz told me that her friend’s kick ass band was going to be recording a track in Pasadena late Friday night for their upcoming album.
Sabrosa Purr. You may have heard their song while watching an episode of The Hills.
You may have gone to one of their shows at The Roxy.
Or you may have even watched them open for 30 Seconds to Mars.
And if you haven’t, trust me. You will soon.
We had the pleasure of meeting the entire band and their producer Tracy. (Think producer for Stone Temple Pilots).
Overall, we had a great time listening to them record their new song Cocaine for their upcoming album To the Crickets and the Ghosts. It’ll be coming out in a couple months, so keep your eyelids peeled and your ears sliced open.

Please excuse the noise. I had to shoot at ISO 3200. It was so intensely dark in there.
Now go check out their Myspace here: www.myspace.com/sabrosapurr
All the cool kids are doing it.
BTW. BRAND NEW’S ALBUM DAISY IS SCHEDULED TO DROP ON SEPTEMBER 22ND. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS. ALSO, GO LOOK UP ALL THE COOL YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF THEM PERFORMING THEIR NEW SONGS. I DON’T KNOW WHY I’M STILL TYPING IN CAPS. I THINK IT’S BECAUSE I’M SUPER STOKED TO HEAR THEIR NEW ALBUM. IT’S ALREADY BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE THEIR LAST ONE WAS RELEASED. OKAY, I’M DONE YELLING IN CYBERSPACE NOW. MAYBE NOT YET. ONE MORE TIME. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. OKAY. NOW I’M DONE.
