This past weekend, we were able to become models. I think we have the ability to make it big. Watch out for us in your Macy’s catalog coming in the mail next season.

On Sunday night, after our exhausting trip back from Catalina, Emz went to go get her tat.
Jun Cha is an amazing artist whose focus is unheard of. He basically is a full time student at Art Center and starts class at 6am-8pm. Then he gets back to the studio and works sometimes until 2am. Then wake up, rinse, and repeat. Oh, and did I mention that he was only 20? When I was 20, I was sleeping in until 3pm, missing class left and right, going out and then sleeping at 4am after scarfing down pollo asada fries at some 24 hour Mexican joint, only to repeat the next day.

I’m sitting here in a tat studio out in Culver City while Emz gets her tat done.
So Saturday was Canon’s Capture Catalina event. SO MUCH FUN. The night before, I played poker until 2:30. I was planning to wake up at 4, but my alarm never went off so I got a call at 4:30am when Emz was already at my house. OH and look at what I found on my table when I got back from poker:

We headed over to 7-11 to get some ‘breakfast’ and Emz ended up blowing up her oatmeal in the microwave and getting yelled at by the guy working there. Great start to a great day, if you ask me!
Anyhoo, we arrived in Long Beach and took the Catalina Express over. It was still dark out.
Got there and decided to check in and grab some food before our first “Hot Lighting” workshop.

So the workshops were a bit boring and after lunch, we decided to embark on our very own Capture Catalina adventure. We dropped off our gear to get cleaned (FOR FREE!!) and each rented a 5DMII & 16-35 f2.8L/17-40 f4L (FOR FREE AGAIN!!).
(oh em gee.)

We have finally fulfilled our dream of doing a photoshoot inside a laundrymat. HOLLER!!
We rented a golf cart and went on our way. Got lost a couple times but found some cool places to goof off and shoot at. Please see below:
So we found an empty trolley car and had to sneak into it because the door was closed. We all decided to climb from the side. This is Emz failed attempt.

AHHH! Just got back from Catalina after sleeping only 2 hours the night before. Super excited, and many pictures to share!
