Gold Line Cinemas

You’ve never been to the movies like this have you?

1. Fully reclining velvet seats. Complete with blankets and pillows.
2. A complete list of wines, beers, and cocktails.
3. Menu with DELICIOUS appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
4. A cool green light up button. When pushed, a server immediately comes over and asks you what you need. Sort of like a flight attendant. Except, you’re at the movies.

Pasadena has a brand new theater set to open on December 2.  It’s going to be AWESOME. I had the pleasure of watching The Invention of Lying during the theater’s preview week. and I don’t really remember much about the movie. But the movie going experience was awesome.

I’m going again tonight for Round 2. LOVE HAPPENS, here I come. (I would normally never pay for a romantic comedy. But since it’s free, I’m there. Because I’m Asian. And Asians love free things. I love free things.)

<edit> Just got back. So, just realized that it costs $34 per movie ticket. Wowza. That’ll easily be a $150 date for two people to attend the movies! Also, Love Happens is 10x better than what I had expected. I thought it was a romantic comedy. It is not. I actually teared up. HEHE. and The Road didn’t make me tear up. I don’t know why. It should’ve. Mochi is currently tearing up at the moment. What a cry baby.

120 Film Fun.

Just developed my first roll from the Holga.

COOL. BEANS. BUT. ALSO. VERY. EXPENSIVE. BEANS.

Film = $4
Develop = $5
Print = $15
——————-
$24 = 12 prints, $2/print. GASP. This is more expensive than my Polaroids :\

Also, I didn’t realize that 11 out of 12 pictures were of Mochi. I must love her too much. I promise the next roll will be alot more interesting!

final

Other exciting news: I will soon be the proud owner of one of these!!!! Instant film will never die!!!

On a sadder note, I just realized that I might have to miss this:

I was only planning on attending  WPPI on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. And when is she speaking? Wednesday morning. FML. What to do?

I Hate that Jay-Z/A. Keys Song.

The only song I hear on the radio is Empire State of Mind. It drives me crazy.

Then I discovered this. And I love it.

Two more weeks till her new CD comes out. Can’t wait!

On to a post I should’ve made a couple days ago. After I held an exciting Photoshopping party. Much like a LAN party, except WAY cooler. Maybe not. But it was fun.

AIROCHI shoot last weekend. Pretty exciting if you ask me. Airochi is a new fashion line about to hit the tennis scene. Watch out for when the site goes live and cop yourselves some brand new t-shirts!!

Fun times! Also, it appears I have somehow acquired some form of down-syndrome, as you can see below.

Chinese Market vs American Market

Emz and I went Thanksgiving dinner shopping yesterday and had to stop at two markets to pick up everything we needed to make the most delicious dinner EVARR.

Can you guess which pictures are from 99 Ranch and which ones are from Pavillions?

It seems to me that my life has been one big movie. There have been its ups and downs, its frogs and prince charmings. But it’s sad to see that the ending to this movie may not be what I want to make it.

I guess I always planned on everything being so easy for me. I was labeled as being smart and funny (witty actually is a better word) when I was younger. Have I lost the sense of both, along with my youth? I am unsure of that, as I am unsure of so many things.

The blackest of night skies has simply become only that to me these days, whereas before, it held me in a sense of mystery; almost magic when the stars shone so brightly, and the crickets sang their night songs. Now, I walk along the streets with its darkness over my head, and I hardly even give it a second chance.

When I was a child, I had never dreamt that growing older would give me a different perspective on things. I took for granted the fact that as a child, I saw through eyes that held nothing but wonder. I have gained new insight, but have forgotten the longing to grow wings and fly away from this place. I have lost the sense of dreaming without limits.

It seems like such a short time ago that my nights consisted of sneaking on to our middle school campus with friends within my neighborhood. The tight knit bond that held us together has unraveled in so many different directions. Of course we all keep in touch, but a distance has been placed between us. Not the distance of location but the changes that come with getting older. We aren’t care free kids any more with all the time in the world. We have become more than that, and it saddens me to see that our separate lives have disentangled us from one another.

We grew up.

But I guess that comes with age. And so for Thanksgiving this year, I would like to reminisce upon that feeling of being a child. Instead of toasting to what will become of us, let us toast to our past. The past is something which we cannot ever change, and those are the things that we must learn to cherish and remember. The past is what makes us who we are today, which I believe is the most important, most sure thing we can hold inside.

To my friends and family, you have all made me who I was, who I am today, and who I will become.

Happy Thanksgiving folks! Have a good one!

Sneak peek at our yummy Thanksgiving dinner (hint: we won’t be having turkey tonight):
