Look what arrived in the mail for me today!!

I’m usually super skeptical about filling in online surveys to receive free things. The promised “prize” usually never arrives, and instead you’re left with a bunch of junk mail filling up your e-mail inbox or physical mailbox. But this time, the survey was directly off of Taylor Made’s website. First 20,000 people to fill out a short survey will receive a free 6-iron. How awesome is that?! I’ve never felt so good selling my personal info before.
Super busy last Saturday. Started off at 10 in the morning over at the lovely See&Jay Marketing warehouse.
Had Red Velvet cupcakes for breakfast…my favorite!

Took a couple studio shots of the models…

Had some fun in between being silly!

Headed over to another awesome location to do some outdoor stuff. Arrived at the location but first decided togrub on DELISH sandwhichs from Larchmont Village Wine Spirits and Cheese. Definitely a must try, if you haven’t already. Yummm.

Here’s DOMOphotography modeling as usual..

Ended the day pretty late, but overall a wonderful experience with easy going people to work with! Here’s one more for the road..

This is a little peek at what Domo Photography looks like while working on set…(Thanks Emerald for snapping this!)

Show my Leica some love in this post!
I spent these two holidays with the worst case of stomach flu ever. I wouldn’t wish this upon my most hated enemy.
The stomach flu started on Wednesday morning, and by night, it had subsided. Then it decided to come back and make a full fledged appearance on Friday morning. No bueno. Paid the doctor a visit, and she confirmed that Gatorade and Immodium would be the best remedy. Except I didn’t know what Immodium was…until I picked up a box at CVS. How embarassing!
Anyway, I had a very busy 3 day weekend that consisted of sleep, sleep, and more sleep. Sort of. Friday night, I knocked out at 9:30pm and woke up the next morning at 9:30am. 12 hours of sleep and I was still feeling nauseous.
Saturday morning, Em and I headed over to the Santa Monica Holiday Inn to snap some photos of their interior/exterior. They put up a new sign that they wanted to showcase on their website so they gave us a call. I’ll make a separate post on that a little later.
After I returned home, I pretty much slept through my Chinese New Years dinner because I was feeling so ill. So sad!
Let me just post a picture of a Chinese dragon dance so I can pretend like I didn’t miss out on this years festivities:

Sunday morning, I woke up pretty early because I slept most of Saturday away as well. Anyhoo, Valentine’s Day! Woot woot! Will showed up at my door with his offerings:

GODIVA CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES <3 MY FAVORITE!!!!
and…..

Domo Family galore!!!!
Best surprise EVAR!!!!!
I got a room at the Holiday Inn for later that night but I still wasn’t feeling so well so we didn’t head out til around 4pm. And my god, there was so much traffic. It took us over an hour to get to Santa Monica. Once we got there, we checked in and just relaxed til dinner time. We didn’t have a dinner reservation but I used my trusty Yelp app and found a cozy little delicious Italian restaurant by the name of Fritto Misto that was walking distance from the hotel. The wait wasn’t too bad, maybe about half an hour, but the restaurant was packed! About 15 minutes after we got there, the people putting themselves on the list were told the wait would be an hour long. Good thing we didn’t lag!

Once we were seated, we ordered a bunch of food but I was only able to eat a couple of bites before the slightest smell of food made me feel sick to my stomach. Will ordered some calamari to start, and I had the Caesar salad. Did you know that Caesar dressing actually is made of anchovies? This was the first time I could taste the anchovy in the Caesar dressing. Must’ve been home made. Delicious calamari (the 2 pieces I did eat haha sorry Will!). Will had the Cajun Seared Chicken pasta, while I tried the sausage lasagna. Very very good restaurant. We will definitely be going back!
Afterwards, we headed back to the hotel and called it a night. We watched an episode of American Greed (one of my favorite shows) where two old women (think 70+ years old) murdered homeless people and collected life insurance on them. Then, we heard some brawling outside and watched 2 drunk people fight each other outside the McDonalds across the street. Pretty interesting sight to see:

Went to bed around 1am, woke up the next morning around 10:30ish and decided to head to the pier and 3rd street for some action packed adventures. Not really, we finished walking the pier in about 10 minutes. So many people! Only in California can you go to the beach mid “winter” and find yourself basking in the warm temperatures of 75 degrees and higher. Look at how packed the beach is in February!

Walked around 3rd street and did some shopping. Bought Will a dope Knick’s vintage tee and a button down shirt for his Valentine’s gift and this is my Valentines gift to myself (plus a pair of flats and a shirt…DONTJUDGEME):

I think I’m going to start collecting cameras. This is what I have so far:
Canon 40D
Leica D-Lux3
Polaroid 600 Land Camera
Canon AE-1 Program
Holga 120CFN
Lomo Fisheye
Fuji Instax Mini 7S
Enough of this tangent, I shall end this post with a corny collage <3 <3 <3 <3 AWWWWWWWWWW CUTTTTTEEEEEEEEEE. <3 <3 <3 <3

Well, it’s not really mine. If you’re ever in the Monrovia area, be sure to check out Merengue Bakery and Cafe, owned by one of my friend’s boyfriends. Think Portos Bakery meets Cake Boss.
