M&J Engagement Session!

Over the past weekend, Em and I had the pleasure of shooting the gorgeous couple Michelle & John. We went to the same high school as Michelle. She met John a couple years back, while she was in school. He is a lawyer, and she is currently studying to become a vet. How perfect!

They wanted to shoot at the Griffith Observatory so we headed up to Hollywood on Saturday. Boy, was it hot. We found “prime” parking and only had to hike half a mile up to the observatory. Emily and I have never visited, so it was a lot of fun. I know, I know. We’ve lived in LA our entire lives and have never been up there? Blasphemous, so I hear.

They also brought their ADORABLE dog Shanti. She is so cute! Probably one of the best behaved dogs I have ever seen.

Just developed my first roll from the Holga.

COOL. BEANS. BUT. ALSO. VERY. EXPENSIVE. BEANS.

Film = $4
Develop = $5
Print = $15

$24 = 12 prints, $2/print. GASP. This is more expensive than my Polaroids :\

Also, I didn’t realize that 11 out of 12 pictures were of Mochi. I must love her too much. I promise the next roll will be alot more interesting!

Other exciting news: I will soon be the proud owner of one of these!!!! Instant film will never die!!!

On a sadder note, I just realized that I might have to miss this:

I was only planning on attending WPPI on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. And when is she speaking? Wednesday morning. FML. What to do?

DEAR DOZER,
TODAY WHEN I WOKE UP, I WAS ITCHY. AT WORK, I WAS ITCHY. WHEN I GOT HOME TODAY, I COUNTED 15 FLEA BITES ON MY STOMACH AND BACK. THEN I WONDERED HM, WHERE COULD I HAVE GOTTEN THESE FLEA BITES. THEN I REMEMBERED WHEN YOUR MASTER ASKED ME A COUPLE DAYS AGO OUT OF THE BLUE IF MOCHI EVER GOT FLEAS DURING THE WINT…ERTIME, TO WHICH I REPLIED, ‘NO, SHE ONLY HAS FLEAS DURING THE SUMMERTIME’, TO WHICH YOUR MASTER REPLIED, ‘DOGS CAN GET FLEAS ANYTIME OF THE YEAR, JUST NOT AS LIKELY DURING THE WINTER’ END CONVERSATION. FAST FORWARD TO ABOUT 30 MINUTES AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN MY CAR WITH NO MUSIC BECAUSE MY RADIO HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS. AS I WAS HUMMING TAYLOR SWIFT AND MY MIND WAS WANDERING, I FELT THE NEED TO SCRATCH AT MY FLEA BITES. UPON PONDERING SOME MORE, I REALIZED THE AFOREMENTIONED CONVERSATION. THEN EVERYTHING CLICKED.

TONIGHT, MOCHI IS SLEEPING ALONE DOWNSTAIRS. AND I STILL HAVE 15 LARGE FLEA BITES THAT I WILL SCRATCH TOMORROW.

MY CAPS LOCK RAGE THAT I WAS IN LAST NIGHT WAS DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY FLEA BITES WERE EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AND I WAS BEING GRUMPY. ALSO, I DIDN’T WIN IN POKER AS MUCH AS I SHOULD HAVE. Mochi is Stupid.

Today, I had to bring Mochi to the vet. For the past couple of days, she’s been having diarrhea, but yesterday night, I found blood on the kitchen floor. At first, I thought it was that time of the year for Mochi, so I did my checks. Upon further examination, I discovered that the blood was not coming from where it should’ve been coming from (if ya catch my drift). Oh no, no, no. It was coming from her butt. She was crying and whimpering in pain and I was so worried about my little baby.

This morning, when I woke up, I rushed her over to the vet. 15 minutes after Mochi had been called, I walked out the door with a Mochi and a fat invoice totaling $239. Well, there goes the money I was planning on using for my macro. The vet looked at her, pressed her stomach a couple times resulting in some passing of odorous gas, took an x-ray, gave her 2 shots, some medication, and some ‘special’ food. Apparently, her intestines were just slightly inflamed. Or inflammed. If that’s even a word. I chose that word because the doctor gave her an”anti-inflammatory” shot, and I figured that would be the correct usage of the word in an adjective sense.

When I got home, Mochi was running around, wagging her tail, playing with toys like nothing was wrong. RIGHT. MOCHI, WHY DIDN’T YOU ACT LIKE THAT EARLIER. COULD’VE SAVED ME $239.

The only cool thing about today’s vet visit was this:

You see all those dark little spots inside Mochi’s intestines? Yeah, inflammation. And maybe some fart molecules.

Stupid Mochi.

Stupid, stupid Momo.

I have a migraine. I don’t know what to do. I think my LCD screen isn’t helping either. But these doggehs are so cute I couldn’t help but make a post on them.

Yesterday, Mochi diarrhea’d. I think it’s because Mama fed her vegetables for dinner. Vegetables are bad for you.
