dozer diaries: chantry flats

January 31st, 2010

Though I don’t normally make any New Years resolutions, it’s about time I get in shape and get some sunshine and exercise.  We used to go up to Chantry Flats almost every week but since the fires 2 years ago, they shut down the place for a while so we stopped going.  They’ve reopened so the pops, some friends, and I decided to hike up to the waterfall.  After almost 2 weeks of rain, the rivers were flowing and the air was super crisp. Dozer and Mochi really enjoyed it too…

sabrosa purr

January 30th, 2010

Hundreds of legendary musicians have graced the stage of The Roxy since its debut in the early 1970s.  Sabrosa Purr is no exception.  Will, Jeff, Angie and Ry don’t screw around…they rocked out with their locks out, literally, and I think only because I had my big camera was I able to make excuses and push through the crowd to capture some wicked shots of them.  I like to describe their music as trippy but I’m sure there’s a better word for it. Think Prince and Jane’s addiction.  Check them out here.

chillin at the rainbow before the show. jeff’s makin’ it rain…

dallas day 2

January 8th, 2010

I’ve been looking forward to going to the Dallas World Aquarium for months! Right when we stepped foot inside, I felt like I was in some sort of NatGeo/Planet Earth show because they had to keep parts of the building humid for monkeys/birds and parts cold for sea creatures/bats/penguins.  Allll the animals and creatures were soooo cute especially the big-eyed monkeys. What’s cool is they didn’t keep a lot of the animals caged so there were monkeys jumping from tree to tree right above us and exotic birds flying wall to wall.  Definitely worth checking out when visiting Dallas!

tim tricked the birds by wearing my bracelets. they mistaken them for their normal diet, blueberries

i like this cause for some reason it reminds me of snot and mucus…or the tree man..eek!

sickass hammerheads swimming above us!!!

manateeeeeeeeeee–look at all its cute whiskers!!!

lumi, a vietnamese, brazilian fusion restaurant has some delicious spicy nachos…this place is a must! abacus is one of the best restaurants in all of dallas. our server claims wade phillips and the cowboys are regulars here. good thing i didn’t see them there otherwise i’d be in jail. tim got venison. yeah, freaking VENISON. wth!! who does that!?

dallas day 1

January 6th, 2010

horrible freeway signs, tollroads, slim thug, Y’ALLs, steakhouses, 20 degree weather, which wich’s, hot white girls, yeehaws, the cowboys baby, sweaty sheets, blue and silver, jerry jones, stupid liquor laws.  These are just some of the many memories I had in Dallas, TX.  Tim so thoughtfully bought me Cowboys Vs Eagles tickets for my birthday last year and we’ve been anticipating this trip since.  Though off to a rocky start, the trip turned out to be a success along with the cowboys’ blow out win against the shmeagles. 24-0 baby, beat that!
